Letting down the guard... is it worth it?

So it won't be a revelation to any 20-somethings out there to hear about my life since we've all been in some crappy relationships that have let us down, made us jaded and forced us to put up  a wall to protect our feelings, emotions and this little thing called love.

At this point our walls are close to being the Great Wall of China and despite what everyone says ... being forced out of a feeling does not get easier every time... the opposite actually. After committing all this time to build this wall ... when if ever is it worth to put it down?

Recently, I met someone who shared nothing in common with the guys I usually fall for. Surprisingly, he happened to have a lot in common with me.... actually maybe that isn't even it - it just worked. He listened to what i had to say with genuine interest and on a daily basis put a smile on my face. At the end of the day I realized... that's what matters.

In the end there is no answer that question... I decided to finally tear down my own Berlin wall for a person who probably isn't exactly who I envisioned myself ever dating.. but it works really well and I'm having a good time ... and definitely looking forward to good times ahead with the boy who kinda gets me without having to work to much at it. Who knew I'd find him in LA.
