2010 Golden Globe Best Dressed - FINALLY!!!

I admit, I am a bit delayed because its been a few days, but here it finally is: My Golden Globes 2010 Best Dressed !!

So it probably won't be a huge shocker to anyone who knows me, but I fined Kate Hudson ....FOR FLAWLESS EXECUTION!!! Yes.. Kate does it again. This time, celebrating the success of NINE, Kate makes her presence know on the Red Carpet with a very architectural Marchesa dress.... not to mention the HOT SHOES, chandelier earrings and perfectly swept hair (with a bit of an architectural touch may I add).

I feel like on the 6th day (before they rested) Fashion Gods created Kate, flawless muse of all good fashion. Thank you fashion Gods!

I do want to give credit to few other best dressed of the night, especially Anna Paquin. This was a very memorable night for her, in my opinion, because she has not really made that many memorable fashion statements and this one really says "I'M HERE and I'm HOT". Good job Anna! TRUE BLooD Rules... and now so do you!

2010 : The year of Oxfords

This week I feel like I've been on a mission. Well.... let's back track. This all started in a bathroom stall at work (YES). For the past week I've been meeting the same girl in the bathroom and of course me, being me, I noticed and fell in love with her Oxfords. Since then I though more about Oxfords than one person should ever think about a pair of shoes in a year. I Thought about their origin and definition. After all, I've been IN LOVE with the new lace-up TOMS. They look like Oxfords... are they tho?

So here it is (according to wikipedia.com):

An Oxford shoe is a style of leather shoe with enclosed lacing. Oxford shoes are traditionally constructed of leather and were historically rather plain. The shoes originally appeared in Scotland and Ireland (WOOHOO), where they are occasionally called Balmorals. The design of the shoe is often plain, but may include some small ornamentation or perforations.
The meaning of the terms Oxford and Balmoral vary geographically; in the U.S., Balmoral is synonymous with Oxford; elsewhere, especially in Britain, the Balmoral is a particular type of Oxford where there are no seams (apart from the toe cap) descending to the welt, a style particularly common on boots.

Rather a long definition, but I think I've reached some clarity. I've done my research and found some of my fave Oxfords available out there. And YES - my TOMS are oxfords too. Now which ones to get?

To end my bathroom story... today I saw her again and actually asked where she got her shoes. They were Bakers - who would have known! I love complimenting people on their fashion if well deserved. Maybe next time I should ask her bout her name :)

"Jimmy Ugg" OR "Ugg Choo"

No, no. This is not a joke. The "sex symbol" shoe of the fashion industry and the snuggly, furry surfing shoe are joining forces to create feet magic.... or feet disaster. We know well that either brand separately can do no wrong. If I could, I would live in Uggs. I probably own 6 pairs. Jimmy Choo...well I'd live in them too, but I probably would have to sit most of the time, because let's face it, most heels are made for walking for only 2-4 hours. More so than anything, at the moment Choo's are more of an investment than something easily attainable by little old me. Either way, Choo = greatness!

So what will this collaboration bring to the fashion scene?
Will it be a success?
Should we expect some furry 5" stilettos?
OR sheep, surf shoes on heels? (which would resemble the Timberland on heels trend circa 2002 - yuck)

Only time will tell. The products will retail from $595 to $795 (Ouch), BUT I am super excited to see the final product!

Here is a snapshot of my UggChoo vision.... hehe :)

Free Praha

Free People AKA Maggie's clothing Mecca! I love that company, their marketing, blog and lately...their catalogue that comes on monthly basis. I think that Free People is a company that really has their sh*t together. They understand importance of digital advertising and social media and have become GREAT at it. They integrate different aspects such as music, books, travel and celebrity into their digital advertising making it (in my opinion at least) pretty epic for our times.

Although I'm praising FP on many levels here, I really just wanted to talk about their newest catalogue. WHY? Because I'm European and I have a certain "Euro Bias" for my homeland and January (the month of my birth may I add) catalogue was shot in its entirety in PRAHA!!!!!!!!!! Yes, the old Czechoslowacja where my gramps used to buy my fave Mary Jane sneakers during his work trips (White with blue/white/and red flag).

Although, I've never been to Prague precisely I know its beautiful and seeing this catalogue made me excited for my June trip with Vicks. I've included few images from the catalogue to share with you, as well as a post from the Free People blog and pictures of the city.

Its an amazing place. Look it up. Study it. I think if you try its really easy to fall in love with a place without ever setting a foot there.... (at least for now)... so Fall in love <3

And do check out the Free People blog. Its a good read for any fashionista, book or music lover or anyone who's looking for something cool and different on the w.w.w.

"Best Dressed" Photoshop Fun :)

In July I went to my 1st movie premiere. My friend Suren produced a re-make of a Broadway show called the "Forever Plaid". It was truly a great production and I was soo proud to sit in the audience thinking" "My friend did this ! YaY for him!"

Movie premiere and special celebration of Suren Seron, also called for a new special outfit. So I searched long and far and ended up finding a BCBG Runway collection dress. It reminded me of something Megan Fox would wear, but it was 100% MAGS. After the show however, I realized that my dress was pretty famous and decided to have some Photoshop fun! :)

So all in the name of fun and my fellow ladies looked AMAZING as well... but I bet you no one paid $130.00 for this dress retailed @ $360.00. What can I say - I girl knows how to find a good bargain :)
